Energy communities are generally seen as an important actor in contributing to green and just energy transitions. Yet, the notion of “energy communities” is also surrounded by a variety of conflicting expectations, assumptions and expected roles.
In this webinar we will discuss a selection of these issues emerging in current discussions about energy communities in Europe and in India, by sharing experiences gained in two ongoing EU Projects, MUSE GRIDS and H2020 Compile.

A representative from MUSE Grids will share her insights from in-depth fieldwork in India – and what we in Europe can learn from this. This is complemented by lessons learnt from the COMPILE project for which a representative will share insights on energy communities and questions regarding engagement and ownership.
