On the occasion of the European Green Week, Europe Direct ELIAMEP Attikis organizes an official partner event of the Directorate-General for the Environment (DG ENV) of the European Commission, titled: ""A Green Walk in the National Garden!"".
The event will begin with a guided tour of the National Garden in the heart of Athens, followed by a discussion on the European Green Deal and the influences of climate change through the perspectives of philosophy and art.
The tour will consist of two parts.
In the first part, the participants will be guided through the National Gardens by Mrs. Katerina Stamidi, tour guide, while being encouraged to take pictures of the gardens and upload them on Instagram.
In the second part of the event, Mr. George Dikaios, research at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) and the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), will introduce the participants to the basic principles of the European Green Deal, and Dr. Nikos Erinakis, Doctor of Philosophy, University of London and Oxford University, and Adjunct Professor of Philosophy, School of Fine Arts, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) will initiate a discussion about how climate change influences philosophy and the way we think in our everyday lives.
ED ELIAMEP Attikis will invite under- and postgraduate students from the Athens School of Fine Arts to participate at the event, as the Centre is trying to expand its citizens' outreach outside of the field of social sciences.
It will also disseminate an open call for any other citizen who would like to be part in this event.
The event will take place on Monday, the 30th of June 2022, from 17:30 until 19:30 (EET), at the National Garden of Athens.
