Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency organize a special event for students in order to promote REGIO Programme, with its priorities for environment.
We choose Vacaresti Natural Park, the first urban natural park in Romania and the first protected natural area in Bucharest, for a 2 hours guided tour with specialists.
In partnership with Vacaresti Natural Park Association, “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture, and Urban Planning and Urban Landscapes Romania we want to contribute to the awareness of the protection of the urban environment, to promote a more responsible behavior on it, especially in the context of the deficiency of green space / inhabitant and of a high pollution in Bucharest.
In order to preserve the habitats well, but also to capitalize on it from a tourist point of view, it is necessary to bring together environmental specialists, urban planners and other entities, but also to find sources of financing.
*** Văcărești Natural Park is the largest compact green space in the capital.
If we look at it from a plane that does not fly very high, the colors green and blue predominate.
We can count several thousand trees, especially willows and large expanses of reeds, meadows made of grass, bushes or areas with concrete, where once were organized economic activities.
All this impressive mosaic of colors and essences offers many services and benefits to the local community and the city.
