With over 30 CCS facilities in various stages of development across the region, Europe is becoming a leader in the adoption of carbon capture and storage – a key technology needed to decarbonise heavy industry.
Driving the deployment of CCS are fundamental policy mechanisms: from putting a price on carbon through the EU emissions trading system to providing amble funding through the EU innovation fund. Despite this, to reach climate neutrality, the number of CCS facilities will need to rise by 100-fold by 2050. This webinar - organised by the Global CCS Institute environmental think tank - will assess some of the key enabling CCS policies and evaluate how, if at all, they can be enhanced.
•10 minutes – Remarks by the Global CCS Institute
•35 minutes – Panel Discussion by Climate Policy Experts
•15 minutes – Q&A from audience
