As the European Commission moves to the final phase of consultations on the Circular Economy Act (CEA), this workshop provides a timely opportunity for stakeholders to exchange views on the policy directions shaping the proposal ahead of its expected adoption later this year.
Participants will explore emerging findings from supporting studies and the impact-assessment process, and discuss key policy measures considered under the CEA.
These include measures aimed at reducing the EU’s dependency on imports of critical raw materials, simplifying the regulatory framework for secondary raw materials, and strengthening access to circular feedstocks across the Single Market.
Join the discussion and help shape Europe’s next step towards a stronger circular economy!
Registrations for online participation are open until 24 April
A link to follow the workshop online will be available soon.
Background
The CEA is a key deliverable of the Commission’s agenda to strengthen EU competitiveness, strategic autonomy, and to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy. It will follow on from the evaluation of the Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.
In preparing the CEA, the Commission has engaged with stakeholders constantly, including through a public consultation, a call for evidence, targeted consultations, and an SME Panel.
