EU-wide networking event on site-specific conservation objectives (SSCOs) for Natura 2000 sites

The event is organised by the Nature Conservation unit of the Directorate-General for Environment, with the help of its contractor ELMEN, and is hosted by the European Committee of the Regions.

  • Conferences and summits

The main target audience consists of representatives of the national and regional nature conservation authorities and their agencies, which are in charge of developing site-specific conservation objectives (SSCOs) for terrestrial and freshwater Natura 2000 sites.

This event will be in-person only. Its aim is to provide a valuable platform for experience and knowledge exchange, and to discuss and clarify questions that Member States have previously raised on SSCOs.

The registration form (including the draft agenda and a context note) can be found here.

For information, a similar implementation support event on SSCOs for marine Natura 2000 sites is planned for September 2025 (date TBC).
