This workshop is the second in a series supporting stakeholder engagement for the upcoming European Commission Communication on a Digitally Powered Green Transition. The Communication, complemented by an Action Plan, will highlight how the Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) can accelerate the deployment of digital technologies to achieve Europe’s 2030 environmental objectives.
The focus of this session is on “last mile” digital applications - how raw environmental data is processed, transformed, and delivered as actionable end-products to support monitoring habitats, biodiversity and other environmental parameters, to streamlining corporate sustainability reports, certifying nature credits, etc..
Drawing analogies from value chains in the real economy, the workshop aims to show how digital data products can be composed starting from raw data, then going through model processing and expert judgement to deliver data-end products to users.
This event sets the stage for another follow-up thematic workshop and a final in-person validation workshop on 8 September 2025 in Brussels.
Contributions will be made into a public report and help shape Europe’s future approach to a digitally powered green transition.
