Volunteer Youth Engagement (Communication and Research) Intern - Minett UNESCO Biosphere Luxembourg
Hana was born is Luxembourg but spent the majority of her life in New Zealand, where she went to school and completed her Bachelors degree in Biomedical Science at Victoria University of Wellington.
It was only in 2018 that she returned to Europe on university exchange in Tübingen (DE) and then went on to begin her Masters in Potsdam (DE). Adventure has always been close to Hana’s heart and has sent her to many different countries and has lead her to meet many incredible people.
Her curiosity in life pushes her to continue challenging her self and to seek new opportunities to learn and to make a positive impact on the world around her. Having grown up in the natural beauty of New Zealand, nature and its conservation has also always been an important passion of Hana’s.
And in fact lead her to pursue a masters in ecology and nature conservation at the University of Potsdam, Germany.
Over the last year she completed a volunteer ship at the Minett UNESCO Biosphere in Luxembourg, where it was her role to increase youth engagement within the biosphere. And as of current, she is working on her masters research project elucidating the microbial synthesis of polyphosphates in tropical soils with a researchers at the University of Wien.
In the future, Hana hopes to continue combining and sharing her love of science, nature and all things new in a science communication role some where down the track of her career!
