The EU Ecolabel Showroom on Wheels got off to a great start at EU Green Week in Brussels, Belgium. EU Green Week takes place every year to debate European environmental policy with policymakers, leading environmentalists and stakeholders from Europe and beyond. This year's edition focused on the European Green Deal - the EU’s sustainable and transformative growth strategy for a resource-efficient and climate-neutral Europe by 2050.
The tour was inaugurated on 31 May by Florika Fink-Hooijer, Director-General for the Environment at the European Commission, in the presence of Zakia Khattabi, the Belgian Minister of the Climate, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Deal.
Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for the Environment, even stopped by to check out the showroom.
"When you choose the EU Ecolabel, you’re choosing products and services that are helping address the biggest environmental challenges of our time – reaching climate neutrality by 2050, shifting to a more circular economy, and taking us closer to Europe’s zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment."
- Virginijus Sinkevičius, European Commissioner for the Environment
