Fifth ZPSP Member State Steering Group meeting

On October 17, the Member State Steering Committee of the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform held its 5th meeting to discuss Zero Pollution at EU and national levels, focusing on the New European Bauhaus, the European Year of Skills, and the implementation progress of the Zero Pollution Action Plan (ZPAP).

The meetings of the Member State Steering Committee of the ZPSP aim to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing on Zero Pollution efforts among EU Member States. 

The 5th meeting began by discussing the New European Bauhaus and its close relation to the Zero Pollution Action Plan (ZPAP). The meeting then continued with the presentation of the European Year of Skills in relation to the skills for the Green Deal which was followed by an exchange of views among the Member State representatives on the importance of upskilling and reskilling the workforce in addressing the digital and green transitions. 

In addition, the meeting looked at progress made in implementing the ZPAP, with a focus on stocktaking and views on the next mandate. Member States shared insights and experiences on what has worked well in the ZPAP’s implementation, areas for improvement, and how best to engage in future initiatives to foster a more effective and collaborative approach. 

Finally, the latest information on upcoming events and initiatives, including the Stakeholder Workshop on the Zero Pollution - Monitoring and Outlook, and the 2nd Zero Pollution Monitoring and Outlook report, was shared.
