After years of neglect, our water cycle is broken. Floods are becoming more frequent, dangerous and expensive. Many of our rivers and seas are polluted with chemicals, plastics, and other sources.
Producing food and powering our economies requires water, but poorly managed water leads to overuse, loss or waste. And as the fastest-warming continent in the world, Europe is at greater risk of water scarcity and frequent drought.
To fix it, we need to maintain a healthy water cycle.
The much-anticipated EU Water Resilience Strategy will address this by ensuring that water sources are properly managed, scarcity is addressed, and the competitive innovative edge of our water industry is enhanced, all while taking a circular economy approach.
Watch our video above for more info on what it will take to build a water resilient EU.
