A new working plan for the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Energy Labelling Regulation was adopted to help foster more sustainable products.

The EU Ecolabel has reached a major milestone, with more than 102,000 goods and services now available in Europe— a 3% increase over the past year. The number of awarded licenses has grown to 3,248, up by 5% since September 2024.

This year's theme is 'Circular solutions for a competitive EU', focusing on how Europe can shift to more circular and sustainable models. 

Trust and transparency were the main keywords arising from the webinar “Caring for you, caring for the environment,” which spotlighted the benefits of the EU Ecolabel - the official EU ecolabel for product environmental excellence - in the absorbent hygiene sector.

The upcoming plan, due for adoption by the end of 2025, aims to advance innovation and maintain the EU's leadership in the bioeconomy.

Talks in Brussels with the UN Environment Programme centred on advancing a competitive circular economy and enhancing water resilience.
