2020 Circular Economy Action Plan
The EU’s circular economy action plan provides a clear vision for a clean and competitive economy
The Level(s) framework started being developed back in 2015 by the European Commission. It started
as a great collaboration between a large number of building professionals, and it benefitted from pan-EU knowledge and expertise.
Among the Level(s) testing audiences were manufacturers, investors, and property developers – who
were particularly keen to assess Level(s) added value to sustainability, circularity and quality of life as
a tried-and-tested European Commission framework.
Level(s) can also be a great asset to improve the future of building design.
The goal? Reduce litter, help develop a circular economy and promote a sustainable future for everyone!
In April 2018, the European Commission officially opened the two-year testing phase for Level(s) to organisations looking to be part of Europe’s shift towards circular and lifecycle thinking.
