Environmental reporting and simplification workshop

As part of the study 'Environmental Reporting and Simplification - Trinomics', consultation activities will be conducted, including this second online workshop.

  • Training and workshops

The European Commission's study team has conducted a comprehensive review of the legislative instruments managed by DG Environment (ENV), identifying reporting obligations and other administrative requirements, and assessing their costs and, where possible, their benefits. Concrete options for simplification have been reviewed for a select number of legislative acts.

This project is not directly linked to the proposed Environmental Omnibus package, but has helped inform the proposal and will be used to inform DG ENV’s ongoing efforts to reduce the administrative burden of its legislation (please note that this project does not relate to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive or the Taxonomy Regulation, which are not managed by DG ENV).

The main purpose of this workshop is to present draft conclusions of the work completed. This will include a summary of the reporting and administrative costs for the pieces of legislation managed by the DG.

The consultants will present the work done to test with the audience the cost assumptions and some suggestions for the reduction of administrative costs on certain pieces of legislation.

If you would like to join this workshop, please register below.

Note that the deadline for registering is 19 January.
