Description
Larger and more resilient forest areas, more trees in urban areas, the right species in the right locations... These are all crucial elements for the success of EU policies on biodiversity and climate. One ambition that brings all of this together is our pledge to plant 3 billion additional trees by 2030. Over 40 organisations, cities, regions and companies have so far joined the pledge, together registering more than 13 million additional trees.
As frontrunners they deserve a place in the spotlight. What have they learned so far? What are their experiences - positive and negative? Do they have recommendations to achieve our target on time? But also: how do they cope with the impact of forest fires, and which opportunities do they see in rewilding?
All of this and more will be discussed in the Rooting for #3BillionTrees conference, part of the EU's #ForOurPlanet campaign.
