Workshop for Experts on Planetary Boundary for Chemicals

The study aims to define a quantitative planetary boundary for chemical pollution and develop an interim method(s) to test it.

The European Commission has launched a study to define one or more planetary boundaries for chemical pollution and develop an interim method(s) to test the planetary boundary.

This may be based on interim approaches in the short term, with the opportunity for improvements as data becomes available.

By presenting the preliminary findings and key questions, world-leading experts can aid the study by providing context and insight, and ensuring that the methods are based on the best available science and grounded in a robust approach.

WSP is conducting the project as a contractor. The study's final results are expected by mid-2026.

You can find background on the purpose and deliverables of the study here.
