In 2008, JENSEN introduced the CleanTech concept and pioneered a new approach for the laundry industry. Prolonging the life of textiles is one of the key aspects considered when designing environmentally friendly machinery.
One of the newest developments takes place at the very beginning of each laundry process, namely in the soil sort: This process can now be automated by robots and AI that identify unwanted objects hidden in the laundry. These objects can range from scalpels and knives to pens and lipsticks, which also damage the linen piece and all other articles in the same batch. By now, CleanTech solutions have been widely accepted.
In the tunnel washer, a correct application of the Sinner Circle is paramount. The ingenious dosing of mechanics in combination with the latest process technologies, ensure that the linen does not suffer during the washing process. Infrared sensors in the dryers ensure a perfect regulation of the drying time, avoiding unnecessarily high temperatures straining the linen. The control detects varying weights and residual moisture of batches of one linen type and avoids unnecessary energy supply and long drying times.
Interactive repair systems for garments in the finishing area support the correct documentation and give proper instructions so that workwear gets repaired at the repair stations.
A similar system is available for flat linen, with a scanner that detects stains and holes. This advanced automatic linen inspection and quality control scanning system sorts the linen for further processing, repair or supply to less demanding clients.
JENSEN continues to always be a step ahead –with sustainable solutions that prolong the life of textiles.
