European Natura 2000 Award Ceremony

On 29 May 2024, Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, the Director General of the Environment of the European Commission, and members of the high-level jury will announce the six winners of the 2024 edition of Natura 2000 Award! 

Winners will be announced for the five Award categories: Conservation on land, Marine conservation, Communication, Working together for nature, and Cross-border cooperation. In addition, the Vice-President will also reveal the winner of the European Citizens’ Award! From 14 March to 25 April 2024, European citizens voted online for their favourite initiative. The initiative capturing most hearts and votes will be announced during the Ceremony.

This year’s Ceremony is extra-special: the Natura 2000 Award is celebrating its 10-year anniversary! For a decade, the Award has been celebrating those who tirelessly manage and protect the Natura 2000 network, create added value for local economies and increase public awareness about our natural heritage. 

Join us to celebrate the 2024 Natura 2000 heroes and register here for the Ceremony. The Ceremony takes place during European Green Week and participation is free of charge.
