Invasive alien species (IAS) have arrived, and they are disrupting delicate ecosystems throughout Europe. The EU started combatting them in 2015 and currently 88 species - 41 plants and 47 animals - are listed as IAS of EU concern.
The European Alien Species Information Network (EASIN) - an online platform of information on IAS to help implement EU policy – has also become key.
